10 Ways to Tackle Negative Tarot Readings

So, you’ve had a negative tarot reading, and I understand it can be a bit disheartening. But don’t worry; constructive and empowering ways to handle situations like this exist.

Here are my 10 favorite ways to navigate bad experiences after a tarot reading.

#1: Tarot does not define you

First things first, take a moment to breathe and center yourself. Remember that a tarot reading is just a snapshot of energy at a particular moment, and it doesn’t define your entire life or future.

Take a moment to ground yourself and gain some perspective. Maybe you are in a place of negative energy and only see the dark side of the reading.

With all dark cards, there is a light side. Without challenge and upheaval, nothing can transform and evolve.

Change is often growing from resistance. Now it is time for changes, which might be for your good even if you can’t see them right now.

Of course, not everything in life will lead to something “better,” but you might get insights and strengths that you should not have without experience. Maybe you can help yourself or others from your experience.

Use the darkness to plant light. It is an excellent way of healing, and you will gain a higher vibrational state. This will make you less prone to negative energies in the future.

If you want to learn more about the darker cards of the tarot, I have written an article on the subject. They are not always as terrible as they might seem. The more you learn about them, the less you fear them.

    #2: free will and decision-making

Tarot cards cannot predict the future due to several reasons. First and foremost, the end is not set in stone but is influenced by many factors, including our choices, actions, and circumstances.

Our free will allows us to make decisions that can alter the course of our lives, making it impossible for tarot cards to predict the future accurately.

So, never fear tarot readings, even if they initially seem scary. This is your chance to duck the bullet and make informed decisions in the future. This might alter the reading and steer your future in another direction.

For example, if the cards suggest that you might get a divorce, you gain important information that not everything is smooth sailing in the relationship. Ask the tarot cards how to strengthen the love so the marriage will persist.

You can always ask the tarot for directions on what to do to resolve a nasty-looking future.

Tarot is best used as a tool for self-reflection, guidance, and exploration of possibilities rather than a means of fortune-telling. You have the power to change the course of your life.

The bad tarot reading might be a way for your Spirit Guides to tell you that things need to change. See it as an opportunity to change paths and set the course toward your dream life, or at least milden the blow.

The worst scenarios are often death, and it is something that many fear. In this article, you can learn more about death prophesies.

    #3: Reflect on your feelings

Allow yourself to acknowledge any emotions that arise from the reading. It’s completely normal to feel disappointed, confused, or even upset.

Give yourself permission to feel those emotions and let them flow naturally. This process of reflection will help you gain clarity and move forward.

How you feel can bring to light things you need to work on to heal. Fear is a common disguise for shadows that needs to be addressed.

For example, if you get the Tower and instantly think that this has to do with your boyfriend or girlfriend breaking up with you, there might be an underlying fear of abandonment that needs to be healed.

The Tower might mean something else like your joint apartment being damaged by a fire and all your possessions being lost. This is, of course, a terrible situation, but nothing you ever thought of happening. It had nothing to do with breaking up, but you still focused on it.

What we are most afraid of is often what we see as we want to protect ourselves from it at all costs. Working on these things can help you gain a more balanced approach to life situations.

Shadow work is an excellent way of healing emotions that needs to be addressed. You will find more information about shadow work in the article below.

    #4: Seek a second opinion

    #5: UNCLEAR QUESTIONS

Unclear questions can significantly impact the accuracy and quality of a tarot reading. When the questions posed to the tarot cards are vague, ambiguous, or lacking focus, it becomes challenging for the reader or yourself to provide clear and specific insights.

Maybe the negative message comes from an unclear question. What were you thinking of when you pulled the cards? To gain precise readings, preparation is key

#6: Focus on the positive aspects

Shift your attention to the positive aspects of the reading, even if the challenging parts overshadow them.

Look for any insights, advice, or areas of your life that were highlighted as potential strengths or opportunities. By focusing on the positive, you can regain a sense of hope and optimism.

With a deeper understanding of the tarot card meanings, you better understand the light and dark sides of the card.

An easy way to be aware of the positive aspects of a negative card is by reading with reversals. This makes every card meaning more dynamic.

    #7: Trust your intuition

Ultimately, trust your inner guidance and intuition. Remember that you have the power to shape your destiny.

If something doesn’t resonate with you in the reading, trust your instincts and make choices aligned with your inner wisdom.

Tarot readings are meant to be tools to empower and guide you, but you are the one in control of your own life.

    #8: Seek support

Reach out to friends, loved ones, or online communities who may have experience with tarot readings.

Share your concerns and feelings with them. Sometimes, discussing your experience with others can provide comfort, insights, or alternative perspectives.

    #9: Let it go

After you’ve processed your emotions and gained insights, you must let go of any negativity or attachment to the reading.

Remember that the future is not set in stone, and you can shape your path. Release any lingering doubts or fears and focus on moving forward with positivity and optimism.

If I get negative feelings after reading, I tend to cut the cord with my selenite wand or cleanse myself with sage or crystals.

    #10: Acceptance

So, you’ve received a tarot reading with results you perceive as bad, and I understand it can be tough to accept. There are a few things that you can work on to make the process of acceptance easier.

Take a moment to acknowledge your feelings and permit yourself to process them. It’s normal to feel disappointed, frustrated, or even upset. Remember that it’s okay to have these emotions and that they will eventually pass.

It’s essential to remember that a tarot reading is not a reflection of your worth or abilities. Don’t be too hard on yourself or blame yourself for the results. The cards offer insights based on the energy at the time of the reading, and they don’t determine your future or define who you are.

Step back and look at the bigger picture. Remember that a tarot reading is just one possible path or outcome among many.

Life is a journey filled with ups and downs; sometimes, the cards highlight challenges or areas for growth. Embrace that setbacks can often lead to valuable lessons and personal development.

Take another look at the reading with fresh eyes and an open mind.

Ask yourself if there are any messages or insights within the reading that you may have initially overlooked. Sometimes, the cards may reveal hidden opportunities or guide navigating through challenging times.

While the tarot offers guidance, it’s important to remember that you hold the power to shape your path.

Take personal responsibility for your actions and choices moving forward. Use the reading as a catalyst for self-reflection and consider if there are any adjustments or changes you can make to align with your desired outcome.

Remember, a single tarot reading does not define your life. Embrace the journey and use any challenges as opportunities for growth and self-discovery. Trust yourself and keep an open heart while navigating twists and turns.
