Daily Tarot readings help you gain deeper knowledge about the card meanings and your intuition. In this article, you learn everything you need to know to start supercharging your Tarot skills.
Daily card readings are a great way to deepen your understanding of the Tarot.
There are two main categories of daily card reading exercises: one-card pulls and spreads. Let’s explore the magic of daily readings and spreads so that you can gain maximum benefits from your deck.
A daily Tarot card spread or card pull is an exercise to help Tarot readers deepen their understanding of the card meanings and connect with their intuition. Most common is the one-card pull, but spreads are used as well.
Tarot mentors and teachers use the daily Tarot reading method to help their students speed up the learning process.
Reading the Tarot doesn’t need to be a complex thing, and the practice of daily card pull helps the reader to connect with cards without performance anxiety. Let’s take a closer look at how to do daily spreads to accelerate your learning.
WHAT IS A DAILY TAROT CARD SPREAD?
A daily card reading is done by pulling one to three cards in the morning. You reflect on the card and its meaning and leave it be until the evening. During the day, you actively notice happenings or situations in correlation or connection with the card you pulled. In the evening, you reflect on your insights and record your experiences in a diary or notebook.
The daily readings can consist of one or more cards. The most common practice is reading one card at a time, but you can do smaller spreads, too, of course.
WHAT DO YOU USE A DAILY TAROT READING FOR?
Daily Tarot card spreads or readings are used to deepen your personal connection with the Tarot card meanings. As you practice, you will get deeper insights, and this will help you grow as a reader. This practice is often used to accelerate the learning curve end help beginners to get a personal understanding of the card meanings.
I use the Biddy Tarot’s Tarot Card Meanings Workbook (paid link – Amazon) for this particular exercise myself.
The workbook will act as a personal reference book for years to come, maybe even a lifetime. This is the secret of how you build your Tarot reading muscles.
If you are a beginner, I recommend you use the Rider-Waite Tarot deck to make it easier for you to get information about the different cards in the deck. The pictures in the workbook are also from this deck. You can find a link to the deck here: The Original Rider Waite Tarot deck (paid link – Amazon). The deck is one of my all-time favorites.

There are many books about tarot card spreads if you want to learn even more. Here is one of my favorites from Amazon if you want to check it out. It’s available as Kindle as well, which is very handy.
1001 Tarot Spreads: The Complete Book of Tarot Spreads for Every Purpose by Cassandra Eason (Paid link – Amazon)
In the book “Everyday Tarot – Unlock your inner wisdom and manifest your future” (paid link – Amazon) by Birgit Esselmont, a recommendation is to “free write” your experiences in a dedicated notebook.
Gaze at the card for a couple of minutes and write whatever comes to mind on a blank paper. Keep going for a couple of minutes. Don’t judge yourself and let everything pour out uncensored. When you are ready, highlight things that stand out and add them to your dedicated notebook.
HOW TO CONNECT TO YOUR TAROT CARD DECK
Daily Tarot card readings are not only used for learning the technical card meanings. Use this technique to strengthen your intuition as well.
Instead of focusing solely on the meanings, hone in on your personal experiences with the cards. As intuition is a huge part of reading the Tarot, this is an essential piece of the puzzle.
Do this by meditating on the cards. Guided meditations help you grow a deep and personal experience with the cards. This, in turn, will help you decipher the messages in your readings. My favorite is Biddy Tarot’s Soul Meditations.
THE BENEFITS OF DAILY READINGS
As you do this practice regularly, your knowledge will deepen with time. You start connecting with your intuition and will develop a personal connection with the cards. This is very valuable as reference books have their limitations. Your spirit has unlimited capabilities of decoding a message – books only work as frameworks.
Daily card pulls also help you get over performance anxiety. The knowledge will stick by focusing on one card and connecting its meaning to happenings during the day. You don’t have to memorize it. You will gain personal experience of the card, and in turn, you will remember it.
This practice gives the best results if you make this a habit or do it for several weeks.
